This playful golden taiyaki chopstick rest has carefully recreated Taiyaki, an adorable fish-shaped, waffle-like snack filled with sweet red bean past. The talented artisans who create these sea bream look-alikes have masterfully captured the realism, so much so that you may want to ensure your guests don’t try and nibble on them! These cute little fish have their tails slightly lifted, forming an ideal nest for chopsticks. While serving a practical purpose, these tiny taiyaki look-alikes bring character and whimsy to your place settings. These cute miniatures are part of an extensive JOC Goods collection of chopstick rests, allowing personalization or mix-and-match themes for your dining table.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
