These canelé-look-alike chopstick rests are so realistic that you might need to warn your guests not to nibble on them! Sometimes referred to as crème brûlée in cake form, canelé are small French cakes baked into striated cylinders. The top has been crowned with painted strawberry sauce in these porcelain miniatures. Like the real-life version, these cute little canelé have a golden-baked finish and cake-like texture. Chopstick rests are an essential part of traditional Japanese dining, but they can be fun, too! This strawberry canelé brings a warm character to your place settings, or you can mix and match your chopstick holders with the variety of food-themed holders found here on JOC Goods.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
