This Ginpo Kikka Lapis donabe pot ("do" meaning clay, and "nabe" meaning pot) brings a warm, Japanese countryside ambiance to your tableware collection. Blending old-world charm with modern conveniences, this ingenious pot is compatible with induction heat. Masterful rice cooking is simple with this donabe, as an internal water level line makes measuring cups unnecessary, and the internal lid system (double-layered lid) prevents boil-overs. Rice cooks in about 30 minutes, and the pot can be rewarmed in the microwave. In addition to the pot’s excellent rice cooking abilities, these diverse donabe are well suited to various other culinary uses. The specialty glazing method allows for excellent heat retention, and while these pots are induction compatible, they are also oven, radiant heat, and direct heat friendly, easily handling an open flame (up to 250°C for the lid). A traditional chrysanthemum motif is used on the lapis-blue lids, making these donabe pots fabulous centerpieces for intimate dinners.
