This large 'Cloud Whisper-Black' series of teapots from Tokoname incorporates modern crafting into a classic, minimalist design. Precision molding ensures the snug fit of this charcoal-black colored teapot's lid, and an easy-to-clean internal tea strainer cleverly removes the need for a metal tea basket. Listed as one of Japan's six ancient kilns, Tokoname kilns have produced fabulous yaki (fired clay) pottery pieces of exceptional quality since the 12th century, and this Tokoname teapot is no exception. Carefully controlled firing temperatures ensure this durable teapot remains slightly porous, a quality much sought after by tea enthusiasts. From the elegant handle to the perfectly shaped spout, the Cloud Whisper series of teapots has been meticulously crafted to ensure the perfect cup of tea. The cylindrical design contains 700ml of tea–ideal for small gatherings, workspaces, and families. These teapots are part of a grouped set of JOC goods, including colors varying from pale beige to Charcoal-black. JOC Goods also stocks teacups in matching colors, allowing for the compilation of fully matched tea sets.

Japanese teapots are designed with a top handle, side handle, back handle, or sometimes no handle. They are usually made of clay, porcelain, glass, or cast iron. Japanese teapots are made for brewing loose green tea leaves and use either a built-in or metal filter to hold back the leaves when pouring the tea. They come in different sizes, from single-serving vessels to family-size teapots.
