This green chili pepper chopstick rest brings a personalized, whimsical feel to your place settings—while still being a well-designed, functional chopstick rest. Handcrafted by talented artisans in Japan’s Gifu Prefecture, this chili pepper rest could easily be mistaken for an actual chili pepper; the detail in the porcelain is that good. The design also features a broad, flat base that keeps the chili pepper stoically in place while proudly maintaining the chopsticks aloft.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
