This stunning handcrafted petal-white teapot has been carefully sculpted by artisans in the Hasami region and finished with a high-luster glaze to highlight the porcelain's natural rose-white coloring. The elegant sophistication of this teapot transcends boundaries of culture and class, just as comfortable in a proper high tea luncheon as serving a quiet morning tea between good friends. The design features an internal filter, ideal for catching tea leaves. Although this teapot's minimalist styling and uncluttered look complement practically any tableware set, JOC Goods also carries elegant Tulip-Shaped Teacups in the same carved porcelain styling.

Teapot

Japanese teapots are designed with a top handle, side handle, back handle, or sometimes no handle. They are usually made of clay, porcelain, glass, or cast iron. Japanese teapots are made for brewing loose green tea leaves and use either a built-in or metal filter to hold back the leaves when pouring the tea. They come in different sizes, from single-serving vessels to family-size teapots. Typical tea sets come with a teapot and five (or sometimes two) matching teacups.

Hasami ware

The lineage of Hasami ware porcelain dates back over 400 years, and modern artisans still use many of the same time-honored methods to create their stunning pieces. Hasami ware, originating from the town of Hasami, shares close ties to porcelain from the Arita region of Japan, but each style produces itsown unique pieces.
