The Mountain Sakura and Birds Teapot is a traditional Japanese teapot featuring a colorful little bird nesting in a branch of mountain sakura (mountainside cherry blossoms). The talented artisans who craft these adorable teapots have chosen a stunning yellow-gold background for the bird and flower motif, lending a regal air to the auspicious design.

This classic teapot shape has also been incorporated with a wide spout and roomy handle, creating a versatile pot well suited to a wide range of tea varieties.

Japanese teapots are designed with a top handle, side handle, back handle, or sometimes no handle. They are usually made of clay, porcelain, glass, or cast iron. Japanese teapots are made for brewing loose green tea leaves and use either a built-in or metal filter to hold back the leaves when pouring the tea. They come in different sizes, from single-serving vessels to family-size teapots. Typical tea sets come with a teapot and five (or sometimes two) matching teacups.
